The CFPS Law School is the undisputed iconic market leader in private legal education in this country and is a registered centre of the University of London for the LL.B. and Diploma in Law Programmes. The granting of registered centre status is done after an evaluation process where the University is satisfied that the Institution has demonstrated acceptable standards of teaching, support and administration.
The CFPS Law School conducts lectures today for over 300 students who are reading for the University of London LL.B Degree and the Diploma in Law.
The CFPS Law School has a history of teaching law for over 21 years where we have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Since 1991 we have been preparing students for the Law College Entrance examination. Every year over 90% of students entering Sri Lanka Law College are CFPS Law School Students. In the past 20 years the CFPS Law School has also consistently produced the student who was placed first in the order of merit in the Law Entrance examination. Over 3,000 of our students have entered Law College during this period and thence on into the legal profession.
Today our alumni include members of the official and unofficial bar as well as members of the judiciary.

The CFPS has been conducting classes for the above exam for the last 21 years. Of the above 20 years the CFPS produced the student who came 1st in the whole island at this exam on 20 occasions. During the last 5 years over 90% of the students who entered Law College were CFPS students |

The LL.B entrance examination of the Open University of Sri Lanka consists of a paper that includes General Knowledge questions, General Intelligence Questions and Comprehensions in Sinhala, Tamil or in English. The CFPS conducts a course for this examination every year.

| LL.B Part Time |
| |
To be eligible to register for the LLB you must normally* be at least 17 years of age at the time of registration and have passes in:
- GCE A/L or London A/L in either science, mathematics, Commerce or Arts streams in English, Sinhala or Tamil medium, and have 02 ‘C’ passes along with a ‘C’ pass for O/L English in Local GCE A/L or just two passes at London A/L.

| English language requirement |
Candidates will meet the English language requirements on the basis that they have:
Passed acceptable examinations in English equivalent to GCSE/ GCE ‘O’ Level English Language Grade C
The language of instruction, reading and assessment is English; success in the LLB requires a good level of English competence. Any candidates in doubt as to their abilities in written and/or oral English are strongly advised to undertake English language courses and tests before enrolling on the programme.

| LL.B Full Time (Diploma Route) |
To be eligible for the Diploma you must:
- normally* be 18 years of age or older before 1 September in the year you register with the University and to have 04 ‘C’ passes at the GCE O/L with a ‘C’ pass for English.

| LL.B Graduate Entry Route |
The following are eligible to apply for graduate entry:
- Graduates holding a full first degree from a state university in Sri Lanka or any other University which will be accepted by the University of London.

| Law Entrance |
- 3 S passes at the GCE A/L in one sitting (New syllabus) or
- 4 S Passes at the GCE A/L in one sitting (old syllabus) and
- GCE O/L a C pass for English and Sinhala or Tamil

Modern Library- Your second home for self learning
Our well equipped library provides the students with the essential and recommended reading material for their studies. Our premises are Wi-Fi enabled and students have access to internet facilities. When a student is registered with the University of London they have access to the “Virtual Learning Environment” (VLE) including the online libraries of the University of London itself.

Internship Programme – More than just education
Under our new Internship Programmer our students will be provided an opportunity to work for periods in the chambers or offices of a practicing Attorney-at-Law to get the unique benefit of on-hands exposure to courtroom and legal processes. This programme is unparalleled in the realm of legal education enabling students to have a deep understanding of how theory translates into actual courtroom processes.

Counselling Support –A springboard to leap over obstacles
The CFPS Law School provides its students the free services of a professionally trained practitioner on psychological counselling who will give undivided attention to all kinds of problems faced by any student, extend considerate counselling, support a student in all areas which may throw up difficulties for him/her and motivate them to strive towards the highest possible level of success in their examinations.

Orientation Programme – Familiarising with the law
Before the students commence their Law studies the CFPS Law School provides an orientation programme to enable them to understand the first steps in the law. At our invitation top academics, lawyers and leading public figures addressed our students on such topics as "Reading for a degree", "The history of the United Kingdom", "International Human Rights Law", "The Political Power in the UK and its changing nature- The past, present and future" and "The legal system in Sri Lanka".

Teaching methods -"The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery."
Our lecturers are well versed in the law and teaching the law. Our class rooms are equipped with audio-visual equipment and we adopt the most modern teaching methods, which include video presentations and online teaching. We do not "spoon-feed" our students but inculcate in them an abiding interest in the law and learning the law.

Visits to Parliament and Courts - Be inspired...
Our students are given the opportunity to visit the parliament and the courts to enable them to experience law making and dispensing of justice at first hand.

Extra-curricular activities – Adding more life to life
In this sphere, students are afforded the opportunity to let their hair down in convivial group interactions aimed at enhancing their life skills, sports and recreational activities, social integration, and society sensitive field visits. Students are also encouraged to participate in moots, debates and public speaking activities. |
